Day 27

3D!

Still needing names!

Today I gained another team member, Sean Hall a 3D Modeler from England, this will accelerate the game progress greatly! To stay in the theme of 3D Modeling I started some tutorials on 3DS Max and Maya, I’ll up posting the pictures/videos as I do them. I’m trying to decide on which of the two I will use, kinda leaning towards Maya, just seems like it has more tutorials for me to learn with.   So Maya is taking me quite a while to get used too…i’ll figure it out! 3DS Max just seems simpler…

Day 26

Saving!

Still needing names!

Now onto business! Today I have worked extensively on making saving work and keeping it persistent. What this means is keeping Save Games…which sounds simple but to a programmer with a game with alot of assets it is hell. So anyway I got it working and quite well too! Got a GUI that I have to tweak but its stable…

Decided to make a video instead today, peoples asked for it so here it is!

Game Names!

Ok Names time for serious I need suggestions! So I made a form that will post them to me, much easier than a poll or something. So suggest away the more names the better. Repeat names will be counted towards being chosen.

Day 23

Demo!

I wanted to test how long it takes to load so when it goes on Facebook it’ll be optimised to load fast! At the moment first load takes 5 seconds then after that instant load. Which for a game with pretty good graphics at the moment I thought was good considering some Facebook games take like 5 minutes to load and that’s not even the first load. Any way this is also a good way to say hey, here’s a playable demo!

Enjoy.

//Reserved for later post tonight after I work some more.

Day 22

Today I started on the Menu (pictured below) I still have to add some cool effects and change the font, I also got drag/drop working and got collision too. So now blocks can be picked up and dragged. That’s about all I did not much…

Project FBG Day 21.5

Day 21.5

Piccys.5!

Just a mini update, my first mini update too. I’ve got raycasting to work now and I can place items, which is a big step toward placing rides, rollercoaster tracks, buildings and more! What raycasting is for people that don’t know like I didn’t 2 hours ago is, imagine like in a museum and people are trying to steal stuff and theres lasers and when one beam gets broken a message is sent, well this is similar but instead when you click it makes an invisible line and i’ve scripted it to spawn an object at that position. And as always, here’s a picture to give you a look, it’s not much but still better than nothing.
